FIVE DAYS TO DANCERafa Molés, Pepe Andreu
VO in Spanish, English, German, Basque
Two dancers show up one morning in the classroom of a high school. It’s Monday and they announce to a group of teenagers that they have five days to get on a stage and dance. One week to change things. A tight deadline for a big challenge: to move people when the world is paralyzing us.
The dancing forces these teenagers to break their roles right at that time in their lives when social roles are being built. The leader is no longer the most admired, the shy one takes a step ahead… Dancing forces them to touch each other. They communicate, they become equals. Some won’t free themselves until the last moment.
Wilfried Van Poppel and Amaya Lubeigt are the choreographers. He’s Dutch, she’s Basque. Dance is their common language. The place doesn’t matter. Five days, a class of teenagers, a microcosm where a big bang takes place.more
